The 10-year anniversary of the global financial crisis is quickly approaching. In early October 2007, the S&P 500 achieved a new high point before shedding more than half its value over the next year and a half.
During the coming weeks and months as various 10-year anniversaries approach (for example, the collapse of Lehman Brothers), there will be a steady stream of retrospectives on what happened then and opinions on how today’s environment is similar or different from the period of crisis.
